I recently hosted artists from Industrial Light & Magic’s London and Singapore studios for a three-day Essential Anatomy workshop online. The goal was to go in-depth into a few challenging areas of the body needing special attention for their upcoming projects – facial anatomy and expressions, shoulders and neck, and forearms & hands.
The online format is certainly convenient as we were able to include artists across eight time zones, but it is still quite a bit different than lecturing in person, as in pre-pandemic times. This being said, I think we managed to cover a critial mass of information for a large group of geographically diverse artists in the three sessions spaced out across two weeks. As always, I look forward to seeing the amazing characters ILM brings to life on the screen!
