Welcome to the Bodies in Motion reference library. This is a small exhibition of the photographs from my 2009 Bodies in Motion photo shoot.

The goal of the shoot was to capture dynamic sculptural reference of figures in motion, inspired by Eadweard Muybridge. Each action was captured at 10 frames-per-second (fps) from three camera angles - giving an artist multiple points of reference for resolving the figure’s pose and balance. A sample of some of the sequences are provided below at reduced resolution (full resolution sample here).

The image library (12 models and over 10,000 images) will be used as figure reference for subscribers to my online Anatomy for Artists course.

The complete library will shortly be put online as a subscription resource for artists needing high quality figure reference. The content will be expanded monthly with a wide range of motion including gymnastics, sumo, boxing, martial arts, etc. If you would like to be on the mailing list for the site please contact me here.
